Board Certified Ophthalmologist Ken R. Barba, M.D.

Ophthalmologist Dr. Ken Barba M.D.was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He majored in biology at Loyola University of Chicago and graduated in December of 1989 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 1995. While attending SIU School of Medicine, he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, served as Class President from 1992-1995 and received Institutional Honors.

Dr. Barba completed a one year internship at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He then began his residency in Ophthalmology at Loyola University Medical Center where he received a third place 1998 Beem-Fisher Award. He was also awarded the research grant from the Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness in 1997.

In July of 1999, Dr. Barba, his wife and son, moved to Bloomington, Illinois and began his practice at the Gailey Eye Clinic. In addition to full service medical and surgical ophthalmology eye care, Dr. Barba is pleased to offer Cosmetic Eyelid Surgery at Gailey Eye Clinic.

Dr. Ken Barba M.D. is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Illinois Association of Ophthalmology and The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.

In his free time, Dr. Ken Barba M.D. enjoys the company of his wife and 4 children. His other interests include traveling, snow-skiing, water-skiing and racquetball.
