Optometrist Scott Blomberg

Optometrist Dr. Scott Blomberg joined Gailey Eye Clinic in November, 2003, providing primary eye care examinations for pediatrics and adults, treatment and management of ocular disease, and post-operative eye care. He offers bifocal contact lenses, color contact lenses, extended wear contact lenses, and contact lenses for dry eyes, keratoconus, astigmatism, and pediatrics.
Dr. Blomberg graduated Summa Cum Laude from Bradley University in 1996 with a degree in Biochemistry. He then attended The Ohio State University College of Optometry where he was selected for the Wildermuth scholarship as well as the Health Professions Scholarship Program. He graduated Magna Cum Laude as a Doctor of Optometry in June 2000.
After earning his doctorate, Dr. Blomberg served for three years as a Captain and optometrist for the United States Army. During this service, he deployed with the 101st Airborne Division to Kosovo in 2001 and to Kuwait and Iraq in 2003 as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was one of four U.S. Army eye care doctors stationed forward in this conflict, providing eye care for both American and Iraqi casualties.
Dr. Blomberg has been a clinical instructor of fourth year optometry students, primary care physicians, and other medical personnel. He specializes in medical contact lens fits, refractive surgery care, and pediatric eye care.
He is a member of the Armed Forces Optometric Society, American Optometric Association, and in 2002, he was accepted for Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry. He is also involved in local church and community activities.
Dr. Blomberg and his wife have two children. He enjoys games, reading, sports, outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
